Nutrition and healthy eating is important.
I am fascinated by nutrition. The way our bodies work. How our systems respond to nutrient levels. All of it.
Anyone who has ever studied nutrition was pulled by a fascination and desire to know more, and to be healthy.
We all know it: Nutrition is important.
But not as important as first and foremost, the relationship you have with food, your mind & your body.
All the nutrition knowledge in the world can be counterproductive without a solid base built first.
It’s like building a house on a foundation of twigs. It doesn’t matter what the top is built of, it’s all going to come crumbling down at some point.
The 10th, & final Principle of Intuitive Eating is Gentle Nutrition.
Meaning, when the diet mentality has been removed, when the trust in our body’s innate wisdom & it’s cues have been re-established, when we have built up our interceptive awareness, when we are finally re-connected to our inner being and our autonomy is strong against diet culture, THEN, & only then, we talk nutrition.
It’s not a race. Not a quick fix. Not a 10-minute journey. Not a diet. Not a weight loss endeavour. Not a “health kick”. Not a “trend”. Not a pass or fail. No right or wrong. No rules.
It’s got nothing to do with me & everything to do with you.
It’s the journey back to yourself.
It’s all YOU.
You choose how the race is run and where you’re going to run to, or walk to, or stumble and crawl to next.
