First things first, you are entitled to a FREE 15-minute call. If you think this is something you might be interested in but want to know more, you can schedule in a free 15-minute call. There’s no pressure at the end of the phone call to lock anything down and you won’t be pressured into a “deal”!
The benefits and barriers
There is strong evidence for the benefits of movement, including, but not limited to:
Helps improve sleep
Improves bone density/strength
Aids in our mental health
Lifts self confidence
Slows the aging process
Improves blood glucose levels
Can relieve pain
Good for the heart
Unfortunately, diet culture has co-opted exercise to be something for the sole purpose of ‘burning calories’, manipulating body shape, and aiding in weight loss (this is not what movement is about here!). For this reason, you may relate exercise to ‘dieting’ and therefore, when the diet stops, so does the desire to move. This sort of relationship to exercise (i.e. inextricably linked to dieting and weight loss endeavours) can keep us in a strange back and forth vortex with exercise. If we are no longer trying to lose weight, or we have finished the diet, we may feel – well, what’s the point in moving?
I’ve seen many people along my journey as a Personal Trainer frustrated by a lack of weight loss when utilising exercise. Sometimes, hands are thrown in the air and thought, well, why bother? Maybe exercise reminds us of the times we had to force ourselves out of bed while on depleted calories. Maybe it reminds us of the times we exhaustingly spent so much time/effort trying to get our bodies smaller, and how much we came to dislike ourselves in the process.
Exercising for the sole purpose of burning calories, earning points, losing weight, earning food – really takes away from the unbelievable, strongly linked benefits of moving our bodies. Movement wasn't created for us to shrink ourselves or earn the right to eat (but, diet culture has done a darn good job at telling you that).
There are many great reasons to move. But, this isn’t about you doing something because you ‘have’ to. This space is about what feels right for your body.
This is also, above all else, a weight neutral space, accepting of all shapes and sizes. You will never, ever, be drilled about weight, in fact, it's not even a topic of discussion (it's that irrelevant). This space is not about weight loss, burning calories, or earning food. This space is about movement becoming intuitive and joyful, once again. It's all about coming home to yourself.
You’re on this page because something inside of you feels like you want to start moving, either for the first time, or again after some time off. But perhaps the thought of working with a PT or gym, that may, subliminally and unintentionally, tell you you'd better start losing weight, is terrifying you. I guarantee you won't get that here.
Maybe you have no idea where to start, nor do you know what type of movement you feel like doing.

The 9th principle of Intuitive Eating is Exercise: Feel the Difference. Here, we unpack your history with movement, your attachments, your motivations, your barriers, and begin to reflect and think on movement which you might like to try as you begin to move in ways enjoyable to you.

Access to workbook sheets to take home after the consultation to aid in further reflection + 2 x audio guides to listen to all about movement and finding movement enjoyable to you

This can be helpful prior to working together in PT sessions.
But please note, you can also undergo this consultation even if you do not have plans to commence PT sessions!
It can be incredibly valuable simply to have this consultation and reflect on your own relationship to movement.

Maybe you want to be able to jog 5km’s smoothly, but, you’re actually not really sure how to run, and/or want someone by your side to guide you through an effective running style (and motivate you!).
Maybe you love tennis, and really want to play, but, you don’t really know where to find a court and you don’t have anyone who has the time, or same desire as you do to play!
Maybe you have always wanted to try a dance class, but you don’t even know where to start looking to get information about dance classes in your area. Perhaps you don’t really want to investigate it yourself, and you don’t really want to rock up on your own.
