A Dietitian who celebrates all body shapes & sizes!


Monique is a weight-inclusive, Health at Every Size* aligned, Accredited Practising Dietitian, Sports Dietitian, Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor and Personal Trainer. The doors to The Intuitive Dietitian Clinic opened in November 2019 to help clients improve their relationship with food and their bodies so they can show up for what matters most in their life. The Clinic focusses on Intuitive Eating and Movement, as well as weight inclusive medical nutrition therapy.


Monique graduated from a Bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics in July, 2018 from Griffith University on the Gold Coast, officially becoming a Qualified Nutritionist and Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD) at this time. From there, further qualifications in 2019 were completed to become a Sports Dietitian, as Monique's experiences as a Personal Trainer for 5+ years naturally led her down this pathway. Monique studied in 2019 with the Original Intuitive Eating Pro's, Evelyn Tribole and Elyse Resch, completing qualifications to become a Certified Intuitive Eating Counsellor. Monique is therefore trained in providing the evidence based self-care framework of Intuitive Eating to clients.

Monique is currently studying a Bachelor of Psychological Science at Southern Cross University on the Gold Coast part-time. Monique has a love of learning and an overwhelming interest in human behaviour and mental processes - an interest that has been prominent since she was a young girl reading self-help books while everybody else read fiction!

When Monique is not doing what she loves best, that is, teaching Intuitive Eating at The Intuitive Dietitian Clinic, she is working part-time at Robina Private Hospital in the Eating Disorder Outpatient Units, hanging out with her golden retriever Cooper, cooking, eating, writing, playing piano, reading (Brene Brown’s books likely), at the ocean, spending time with family and friends, collecting crystals, meditating (Vipassana) or listening to Beyonce.​

Why Monique is so passionate about the line of work she is currently in:


"I grew up with quite a positive relationship with food, with a body that never really shifted in terms of composition all that much. Food and eating was stress-free and enjoyable, and I didn't associate food with a direct correlation to what it would do to my body. They were separate entities and experiences.

When I finished high school, I joined a gym for the first time & completed my Certificates to become a Personal Trainer shortly after. I was immersed in a health and fitness industry, where dieting, restrictions, and excessive fixation on body image was normal for much of the environment I was surrounded by. 


Around this time, things started to change for me. I competed in a bodybuilding competition, whereby I went on a 'diet' for the FIRST time in my life and subsequently developed disordered eating tendencies (coincidentally, for the FIRST time in my life). The Monique I described in the first paragraph of this section was no longer. Food and eating became an incredibly disconnected experience, as did everything else in my life. Eating for the sole purpose of 'looking a certain way', to lose weight, to become smaller, to be leaner, with my worth placed entirely on these constructs, got destructive really, really, quickly.


The journey through my degree, my further studies post University and exposure to evidence based frameworks such as Health At Every Size* (HAES), The Non-Diet Approach, and Intuitive Eating healed my own disordered relationship with food, movement, and body image. I am a lover of learning but believe there is no learning like that of experience. I am very grateful for my experiences up until now, and am a big believer that we all have a ‘thread’– that is, something guiding us to the place we are meant to arrive at next. Without my own personal experiences entrenched in diet culture, body hate, and food war, I don’t quite know if I would understand the people that sit in front of me every day.

There is literally nothing that I love more than helping people to step away from diet culture and instead, return home to themselves through the journey of Intuitive Eating. There’s nothing else you will ever need after that, I truly believe!"
